Scalp Micro-Pigmentation

What is Scalp Micro-Pigmentation or, SMP?

SMP is a method of disguising hair loss by “tattooing” tiny spots the size of hair follicles onto the scalp in the hair loss area. This technique can be used in many scenarios with great results. It is suitable for both Men and Women. The procedure is painless and there is no downtime associated with it.

It is important to differentiate SMP from standard tattoo procedures, however. Standard tattooing uses much larger inking implements, creating large blotches of ink deep in the skin that will not look natural in this application. SMP must be performed by a trained SMP artist using inking implements specifically designed for this purpose in order to create effective, natural results.

Shaved Scalp – Scalp Micro-Pigmentation (SMP)

For those who have lost scalp hair and prefer the shaved scalp look, but don’t like the “shadow” caused by the growing hair on the sides, SMP is an effective solution. Micro-pigments added to the hair loss area look like the shaved follicles on the sides and back of the scalp, giving you the appearance of a shaved full head of hair. Patients can opt for solid, soft, dark or light variations to match their existing hair. SMP is effective for all skin types.

Hair Transplants (HD)

The thin appearance of hair transplants can be improved using SMP. SMP pigments are placed between the growing hairs of the hair transplant, making the hair appear thicker than it actually is.
